I'm happy to announce that I'll have work included in this exhibiiton that opens soon. The show will pair historic work from the permanent collection with contemporary art by Merce Cunningham, Diana Flowers, Reinike Dijkstra, Stewart Ziff, Kehinde Wiley, Andy Warhol, Jereon Eisinga, Phong Bui, Andre Keichian, Christina West, Sean J. McCormick, Peter Bahouth, Dawoud Bey, Elizabeth King and selected tintypes and early 19th c. photographs from Atlanta-based collector George Whitely.

Pause focuses on contemporary ideas about portraiture and grew out of a selection of paintings in the Kennesaw State University Collection. Thinking about the idea of stillness in relationship to posing for a portrait, capturing a moment, freezing frames, preserving split seconds, suspending animation, stopping, breathing, withdrawing, interrupting the flow, and all attempts to slow or change time are within the purview of this show.
