Christina A. West is an avid people watcher with a dry sense of humor, active imagination, and an innate impulse to create with her hands. If you meet her and she stares at you a bit too long, she's probably just picturing you naked.
West is a sculptor based in Atlanta, GA. She earned her MFA from Alfred University in 2006 and since has extensively exhibited her work across the country. Recent solo exhibitions include Stage Left at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; Stay Asleep at Plug Projects, Kanas City, MO; Unmet at CG2 Gallery, Nashville; and Intimate Strangers at the Mindy Solomon Gallery, Miami. Recent group exhibitions including her work have been held at The Jung Center, Houston, TX; the Zuckerman Museum of Art, Kennesaw, GA; The Charles Allis Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI; the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, Alfred, NY; Hathaway Gallery, Atlanta; and Atlanta Contemporary among many others. Additionally, West’s work has been supported by a grants and fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, The Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts, the George Sugarman Foundation, and the Viriginia Groot Foundation. West is an Associate Professor of Art at Georgia State University.
